Contact Sheet — A contact sheet is a grouping of thumbnail images of each of the student's images arranged on one sheet. I use a glossy photographic paper for color accuracy. Each image will be tagged with the title of the artwork, and the medium, size or other any other information required by the school.
Custom CD
Schools normally require that the student submit a CD including a digital file of each of the images they're presenting for consideration. I will "burn" (create) a CD including all of these files in addition to digital copies in pdf format of each the contact sheet and, if required, the PowerPoint Presentation developed for the student. A custom label will be printed on the face of the CD showing one of the student's artworks, his or her name and a designation of the school to which they are submitting their application.
Digitization
Two dimensional images will be shot with a digital camera and color correct lighting. To ensure accuracy in matching your original, the resulting file will be color corrected in PhotoShop and saved to the appropriate file format, resolution and size.
Transparencies will be digitized on a flatbed scanner before color correction.
Three dimensional subjects such as sculpture and jewelry will be photographed against a black or gray cloth background before being adjusted in PhotoShop.
File Format
Digital files can be saved in different formats, the most commonly requested being either "jpg" or "tiff". Jpg's are compressed to take up less (virtual) space on a disk and be quicker to load into a computer. Tiff files are larger and tend to have somewhat more accurate color rendition. I will convert the originally digitized file to the proper format requested by your schools.
